Pol. Lt. Col. Wannapong Kotcharak, Permanent Secretary of Labour, presented the event report. Executives, civil servants, officials of the Ministry of Labour, parents and guardians, schoolchildren, residents of the Din Daeng Flat community, children of workers, and representatives from establishments attended the event in large numbers at the ground-floor hall of the Ministry of Labour building on Mit Maitri Road, Din Daeng District, Bangkok.

Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, said that she was delighted to join the Ministry of Labour’s National Children’s Day event for 2026 and welcomed the children, youth, parents, and employers who attended the activities. This year, the government announced the National Children’s Day slogan for 2026 as “Love Thailand, Care for the World”, aimed at nurturing children and youth to grow into high-quality citizens who take pride in being Thai, while also recognising their role as responsible global citizens with awareness of social and environmental responsibilities.

The Labour Minister added that the Ministry places great importance on the development of children and youth, who are valuable human resources for the country’s economic and social development. The Ministry has provided support in many dimensions, such as promoting early childhood centres, establishing childcare centres and breastfeeding corners in workplaces, and encouraging opportunities for skills development and income generation while studying. These initiatives aim to enhance the experience and prepare young people for the labour market.

Pol. Lt. Col. Wannapong Kotcharak, Permanent Secretary of Labour, said that this year’s National Children’s Day event was organised under the theme “Thai children must have jobs when they grow up”, with the objective of giving children and youth the opportunity to learn about the world of work and future careers, skills development, as well as knowledge on labour welfare, social security, and occupational safety through activity booths operated by agencies under the Ministry of Labour and participating establishments.

Following this, the Labour Minister and her delegation visited activity booths run by agencies under the Ministry of Labour and participating establishments. The event was divided into several zones, including: Zone A, featuring main stage activities, the presentation of scholarships, bicycles, and prize giveaways; Zones B and C, offering hands-on career learning through Virtual Reality technology, digital and AI skills training, creative career activities, and occupational safety education, along with fun games and prizes; Zone D, providing free health and dental check-ups from hospitals within the Social Security Office network; and Zone E, offering food and beverages for children and all participants.

The atmosphere throughout the event was lively, with members of the public, workers, and residents of the Din Daeng community and nearby areas bringing children, youth, and family members to participate in large numbers from early morning.

The Labour Minister also took the children attending the event on a tour of the Minister’s office, encouraging them to study diligently so they could secure good jobs, develop higher-level skills suited to the future world, or even become ministers to take care of the nation. She also warmly invited the children to take photos with her in a friendly, approachable manner.
