Labour Minister’s Advisor Encourages Labour Volunteers as Ministry of Labour’s Driver

            Professor Jak encourages labour volunteers as the Ministry of Labour’s driving force and gives encouragement after the COVID-19 crisis.

            On June 25, 2020, at 09.30 hours, Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet, presided over the opening ceremony of the project for capacity building for a network of labour volunteers, aiming to integrate the Ministry of Labour’s mission in Samut Songkhram for 2020. The occasion took place at the Piman Kaew Room, Chuchai Buri Sri Amphawa Hotel, Amphawa, Samut Songkhram. He said that the project aims to strengthen the network of volunteer workers in Samut Songkhram, considered to develop the potential of volunteer networks in terms of knowledge, news and information in presenting labour services, as well as an opportunity to develop operational guidelines to be in line with the Ministry of Labour’s policies. He said that labour volunteers must have the knowledge to respond to the needs of the people in the community, to be timely, accurate, and up to date with the workforce situation. Labour volunteers are those who are responsible for publicizing labour missions for agencies under the Ministry of Labour, through dedication and sacrificing their personal time for the government. The training under the Labour Volunteers Network Empowerment Project aims to integrate the Ministry of Labour’s mission with Samut Songkhram. Labour volunteers and networks will gain knowledge and understanding of the Ministry of Labour’s duties, to apply knowledge, labour mission and services of the Ministry of Labour to people in the area. Labour volunteers help to publicize and educate the public, providing an understanding of the Ministry of Labour’s mission, providing access to service and rightful benefits. Professor Jak thanked the network of volunteer workers responsible for publicizing information to the people in the community and being responsible to receive various labour services as expected by the Ministry of Labour in Samut Songkhram, for the happiness and good quality of life of people in Samut Songkhram province.

            The Labour Volunteers Network Empowerment Project had a special lecture on “labour volunteer networks driving the Ministry of Labour, benefits for insured persons and workforce protection during COVID-19”. A total of 80 people attended, including a network of labour volunteers and relevant officials.
