Labour Minister’s Advisor Visits Trat to Give Advice and Encouragement to Informal Workers

Content Description

On July 19, 2020, at 13.00 hours, Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet visited the basketry production group for woven basket bag products produced by labour volunteers and insured persons under Article 40 in Moo 8, Tha Kum. There were 20 people in the activity, which is an extension of turning bamboo and rattan, into a basket weaved using plastic strands. The baskets had newly created baskets, with baskets designed for durians, that will be produced and sold by only, as the group had lost money from the mass production for sale. The Labour Minister’s Advisor recommended to be combined into a group and to request support from the Ministry of Labour as a project to do work at home. He also advised sales through online channels and to make a clip of the process behind the scenes of weaving the basket, to attract the interest of visitors to order products from the group. The advice also included to create baskets with a zipped inner pocket to prevent items in the basket from damage and also allowed the group to attend vocational training with the Department of Skill Development in order to use the Ministry of Labour logo to put on the name tag of the group inside the basket, which will give credibility to the product; this is one of the policies under Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul, given at Ban Khao Phlu, Tha Kum, Mueang, Trat.
