Ministry of Labor stresses that employers bring foreign workers to health check-ups before entering the OSS

          Mr. Anurak Tossarat, Director-General of the Department of Employment Ministry of Labor announced that H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor is urgently working with Thai employers on the health examination of migrant workers from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar at the hospital was set up by the Ministry of Public Health before it was put into operation. In Bangkok, migrant workers can check their health in seven hospitals: 1. Central Hospital 2. Nopparat Ratchathani Hospital 3. Lert Sin Hospital 4. Rajavithi Hospital 5. Taksin Hospital 6. Charoen Krung Praka Hospital 7. Wachira Hospital.
          The OSS has opened up to three groups of Cambodian, Lao, and Myanmar workers:
Group 1: Workers in marine fisheries and fish processing who have proven their nationality and have not been naturalized.
Group 2: workers who were screened for employer-employee relationship (matched pair) were grouped into nationality proofs and received a work permit surrender until March 31,2018 and Unproven nationality only with a matching card and a work permit until December 31, 2017, and
Group 3: workers who hold a non-Thai identity card (pink card) whose work permit expires on March 31, 2018. Both cases prove and do not prove citizenship. The procedure is step 1, screening point. The staff will check the documents. Step 2: The Department of Local Administration prepares or updates a 13-digit history record, facial photo, fingerprint scan, 80 baht charge. Step 3 Immigration Bureau Visa check to stay in the Kingdom. If the foreign worker has not yet proved his / her nationality, he or she will not be required to do so. Step 4: The Department of Employment is allowed to work in Group I Fishing labor: Not valid until June 30, 2018, costs 550 Baht, proof of nationality is allowed until 1 November 2016, spend 1,900 Baht. Group 2: No nationality allowed until June 30, 2018, expenditure of 550 baht, nationality verification and original work permit expired on December 30, 2017 will be allowed until March 31, 2020, the cost is Baht 2,225. The original work permit expires March 31st, 2018. It will be valid until March 31st, 2020, the fee is 1,900 Baht, and the third is the pink card: the nationality is not valid until June 30, 2018, the cost is 325 Baht. Proof of nationality is allowed until 31 March 2020, costs 1,900 Baht, Step 5 Social Security Office Registration of insured persons to foreign workers who work in the business of employers who have social security and foreign workers who have been registered as insured. Then The Ministry of Public Health provides health insurance for foreign workers who have not yet passed the nationality verification and citizenship verification in two cases: Case 1: Work in Social Security and register the insurer. The health insurance for protection before the social security insurance 3 months 500 baht, Case 2 work in the business does not belong to social insurance (home servants and fishermen), 2-year health insurance costs 3,200 Baht, and Step 6 payment (Registration fee, visa fee, work permit fee, health insurance) and get a work permit / ID card. Employers prepare documents, including: 1. Copy of ID card 2. Copy of house registration If the employer is a juristic person, use a copy of the certificate of registration of the company and household registration. 3. DDS 1, the foreign worker. Prepare documents such as: 1. Match card or pink card. 2. Documents at exit country such as CI TD 3. Medical certificate 4. Copy of social security card (if available).
          For OSS center location, there are 78 centers nationwide. There are 2 centers in IT Square, Laksi District and Petchakasem Tower at 1759/3 Petchakasem Road, Bangkae (near Big C Petchkasem) and 76 provinces nationwide. Mr. Anurak added that the OSS will be operational until March 31, 2018. From February 5 to 10, 2018, there were 29,420 migrant workers, Cambodia 11,652, Myanmar 14,901, Laos 2,867. The Minister of Labor has urged employers to take over the workforce at the OSS from now on. Do not wait until March 31, 2018.
