MOL Commences Project to Raise Enforcement Level on Labour and Criminal Laws to Address Issues of Child Labour, Forced Labour and Human Trafficking for Sustainable Change

          On March 23, 2021, at 09.00 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Niyom Songkaew presided over the project to raise the level of enforcement on labour laws and criminal laws to address the issue of child labour, forced labour, and human trafficking for sustainable change (Atlas Project Generation 2) at Anantara Siam Rajadamri Hotel, Bangkok. The program is organized for labour inspectors and investigative officers to support the investigation for the second generation of child labour, forced labour, and human trafficking cases under the ATLAS program. The initiative is supported by the US Department of Labour and Winrock International. The workshop aims to promote knowledge and develop target groups’ potential, namely staff working in solving issues in child labour, forced labour, and human trafficking from various relevant departments. Faculty speakers presented knowledge on the definition of child labour, forced labour, and human trafficking within the legal framework and international standards, including guidance on how to identify, prove, and separate victims of child labour, forced labour, and human trafficking. It also covered investigative techniques and interviews. These are all very important and useful in the practice of solving the issue of child labour, forced labour, and human trafficking.
