MOL Commences Project to Support and Build Public Participation in Combating Corruption Called “Labour Eyes”

                The Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour commenced the project to support and build public participation in combating corruption, called “labour eyes.” The project promotes participants to gain knowledge on anti-corruption, considering common interests rather than personal interests, and the public sector’s participation in surveillance of corruption at the local level.

                On September 21, 2020, at 09.00 hours, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mrs. Tongjai Suthat Na Ayutthaya, presided over the project to support and create public participation in combating corruption called “labour eyes.” The meeting also discussed the National Strategy on Anti-Corruption Phase 3 (2017 – 2021), which has established strategies relevant to public participation creation and development. The two strategies include: 1) Building a society that does not tolerate corruption and 2) Developing a proactive anti-corruption system, which will be held between September 21 – 22, 2020, at the Grand Ballroom, 2nd Floor, H Ratchada Hotel, Bangkok.

                Mrs. Tongjai said that the Ministry of Labour is committed to preventing corruption. It has complied with the government assessment guidelines following measures to improve government agencies’ performance in 2020 of the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC), which requires government agencies to “supervise corruption.” It has created a program to prevent corruption or promote morality among agencies in the prevention of exploitation of personal interests or the exercise of power for the benefit of relatives, associates, or others and give serious consideration to the operation and disciplinary actions against the corrupt officials.
