MOL Conducts Labour Inspection in Brunei

          On May 28, 2019, at 09.30 hours, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General (Mr. Todsaphon Kritwongwiman) and committee including the Social Security Office’s Inspector-General (Mr. Seela Keotabhand)the Department of Skill Development’s Inspector-General (Mr. Sa-nga Wongsapan) and the Department of Employment’s Inspector-General (Mrs. Napasorn Toongsooksai) paid a courtesy call and official discussions with the Thai Ambassador in Bandar Seri Begawan (Ms. Wanthanee Viputwongsakul), and presided over the meeting at the Brunei Office of Labour. The meeting followed up on the progress of operations following the annual operation plan for the 2019 fiscal year at the Labour Office, Royal Thai Embassy. The Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General requested that the Labour Office accelerate the disbursement of the budget to comply with government regulations and discussed a network for news and the ministry’s “Thai Kitchen to the World” policy, whereby the Department of Skill Development will coordinate with the embassy to drive the initiatives. The meeting further reported the status, problems and obstacles related to labour.

          The committee also met with representatives of labour volunteers to understand the missions, problems, obstacles and needs, whereby Brunei has around 40 labour volunteers. The ministry’s Inspector-General thanked the volunteers for their help in driving labour missions at the local level which is considered another way to help the nation.
          Inspector-General to the Ministry of Labour asked that the labour team in Brunei follow and implement the Ministry of Labour’s policies, especially in caring for Thai workers and driving the “Thai Kitchen to the World” policy.
