MOL Creates Community Pantries to Alleviate Suffering of Those Impacted by COVID-19

          The Labour Minister showed concern for the people, creating community pantries to help alleviate the suffering of those impacted by the COVID-19 virus crisis.

        On May 13, 2020, at 08.30 hours, Labour Minister M.R. Chatu Mongol Sonakul chaired the commencement of community panties to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the COVID-19 crisis. Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat alongside the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the occasion around Gate 1, Ministry of Labour. The community pantries consist of consumer goods, daily necessities of dry food, canned fish, instant noodles, and drinking water for example. Those who have suffered can pick up the items for free. People who want to share or contribute can add additional items to the cabinet under the concept “collect as needed; if you can, please share”, to encourage and help everyone to overcome the COVID-19 crisis together.

          The Labour Minister said that the Ministry of Labour is aware of the suffering of the people who have been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak and is very concerned and sympathetic. Therefore, the Ministry of Labour has ordered officials to create community pantries to share happiness and be a part of helping to share food, snacks, beverages, including consumer goods and other necessities for living. Once the community pantry is at Gate 1 of the Ministry of Labour, so that those who are experiencing problems in their lives can use the goods and reduce the burden of expenses. At the same time, people who want to share can donate items to the community pantry to encourage and help everyone to overcome the COVID-19 crisis.
