The Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour commenced the Ministry of Labour’s project to drive Thailand to be clean and free from corruption, develop personnel to support the development and change of a globalized society, equipped with consciousness and responsibility for being an excellent civil servant.
Today (May 22, 2019) at 09.00 hours, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Suradej Waleeittikul chaired the opening ceremony of the “Zero Tolerance & Clean Thailand” project at the Jompol P. Pibulsongkram Conference Room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. The Deputy Permanent Secretary said, “The National Strategy for Prevention and Suppression of Corruption Phase 3 (2017-2021) has set the goal for a “Zero Tolerance & Clean Thailand” over the next five years. Thailand will aim to become a country with moral standards and ethics, embracing a society that does not tolerate corruption.”
“The Ministry of Labour as a government agency that has to drive such strategies to achieve concrete results will do so by strengthening and developing personnel to know morality, ethics and discipline. It must create and cast such personnel to be aware of the duties and responsibilities assigned in serving people based on morality, ethics, honesty and in line with regulations. An important aspect is a good governance and the sufficient economy philosophy that His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej gave to all Thai people to adopt, to enable Thai society to develop in a better direction. The philosophy can be used in every aspect of development, as seen from His Majesty’s initiative and “must explode from the inside” in the sense that focus must be on development to strengthen “people and families in the community.” The community is like a government agency, i.e. “the Ministry of Labour” must prepare people or develop personnel to support the development and change of the globalized society, equipped with consciousness and responsibility for being a good civil servant,” concluded the Deputy Permanent Secretary.
This training focused on the civil servants at operational levels of all departments under the Ministry of Labour to gain knowledge of procurement regulations and practices. It also aimed to strengthen morality and transparency in the public sector and then held brainstorming groups to find ways to create transparency for the Ministry of Labour. The training will take place between May 22 – 24, 2019, whereby there were 200 participants from the Ministry of Labour.
