MOL Hosts Daffodil Making Training Nationwide

            Permanent Secretary of Labour M.L. Puntrik Smiti commenced the daffodil flower folding training in honour of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The event was joined by the Department of Employment’s Director-General Mr. Terapol Koonmuang, the ministry’s officials and officers and many members of the general public. The event was organized by the Department of Skills Development and Ladies Association at the Labour Institute. The Permanent Secretary said, “Today (19 May 2017) is the first day that the Department of Skills Development has hosted training on daffodil folding in honour of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The training is free of expenses and will be held from 19-21 May 2017. People interested can apply at the 85 engineering centers in 33 provinces nationwide. For residents of Bangkok, the Ministry of Labour has prepared 2 training centers including the Labour Institute at the Ministry of Labour and the Bangkok Skills Development Center (Wat Tat Thong) in Wattana district; you can apply from toward onwards. Over 5,000 people nationwide have already shown their interest, and we are certain that we can exceed 1 million daffodils.”
Khun Mali, a senior citizen aged 73 years joined the event. She said, “I came from Samut Prakarn to fold these flowers in honour of the late King. I am very happy that the Ministry of Labour has provided this opportunity to show us how to make the daffodils and I intend to come every day until the project is complete.”
            Khun Wattanee and Khun Boonta, members of the Ladies Association joined the training too. They said, “We are so happy to be part of this activity in honour of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. There are people to show us how to correctly make the flowers. I will be sure to follow King Rama 9 principles in my daily life, especially in living sustainably.”
            People interested in joining the training can apply in person at the Labour Institute and Bangkok Skills Development Center (Wat Tat Thong), free of expenses.
