The Inspector-General spoke about the Ministry of Labour’s partnership with the IOM where it has focused on promoting safe migration and impartial employment, which has included the adoption of the joint declaration on safe migration between CLMVT nations and resolution of illegal migrant labour. The PROMISE project hopes to promote skills development and employment opportunities for migrant workers through legal methods.
The PROMISE project has been funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), with the objective of strengthening connectivity of labour migration and reducing poverty in Thailand. The project focuses on partnerships in employment, skills development and labour protection in order to create more opportunities for migrant workers to take up safe and valuable work.
