The measures include remedies to reduce impact, provision of relief items, and screening and self-quarantine following standards set by the Ministry of Public Health. The measures will allow foreign workers to work in Thailand to understand how to protect themselves from Covid-19.

On April 17, 2020, at 14.30 hours, Assistant to the Labour Minister Dr. Duangrit Benjathukul Chairungrueng chaired a meeting with Dr. Thares Krasnairawiwiwong, Director-General of the Department of Health Service Support, Ministry of Public Health and Dr. Pichit Siriwan, Deputy Director of the Relief and Community Health Bureau, Thai Red Cross. The meeting discussed issues on cooperation in providing knowledge on the prevention of the spread of the coronavirus 2019 (Covid-19) to foreign workers in the area.

Dr. Duangrit said that the Ministry of Labour and the Thai Red Cross would partner together to provide knowledge on the prevention of the spread of the coronavirus 2019 (Covid-19) to the target group of foreign workers. Efforts will include publishing documents in the language of foreign workers to create an understanding of mitigation measures. Relief items will be distributed, such as masks, hand sanitizers, and survival bags, including the process of receiving medical examinations for people who have traveled to high-risk countries, as well as 14-day self-quarantine procedures following those set by the Ministry of Public Health. The efforts will strengthen participation awareness of all sectors. A pilot will start in Samut Sakhon and Pathum Thani provinces first. After that, the cooperation will be extended to various provinces to let foreign workers working in Thailand know how to protect themselves from Covid-19.
