MOL Joins Workshop to Determine Opportunities for Development of Multiple Cooperation Strategies in ASEAN on Solving Human Trafficking and Forced Labour in the Fishing Sector

          On December 9, 2020, at 09.00 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol assigned Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of Labour Ms. Pattaraporn Samantarat, to represent Thailand’s Senior ASEAN Labour Officials participating in a workshop to determine opportunities for the development of multiple cooperation strategies in the ASEAN region on solving human trafficking and forced labour in the fishing sector. The meeting was conducted through a video conference system at the Office of International Cooperation’s meeting room, 12th floor, Ministry of Labour.  The meeting participants consisted of the Ministry of Labour’s representatives and the relevant government sectors, including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the International Labour Organization, and ASEAN member countries. On this occasion, Ms. Pattaraporn Samantarat gave a speech on the second agenda to exchange information from regional partners. She presented the Ministry of Labour’s operations, plans, and activities related to solving human trafficking in the fishing sector.
