Content Description

On August 24, 2021, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat, reported the first round of payment for remedies to insured persons under Section 39 in 13 provinces, covering nine types of businesses, amounting to 5,000 Baht. The payments were made yesterday (August 23, 2021) to eligible insured persons in Bangkok, Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala, and Songkhla, with the addition of Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. There was a total of 1,123,746 transfers, with 1,020,852 successful transfers and 102,894 unsuccessful transfers. The unsuccessful transfers were that 99,940 accounts weren’t linked to PromptPay, 1,412 were closed accounts, 972 people had no accounts, 11 people had accounts limited to certain criteria, 112 were incorrect accounts numbers, and 447 were unable to make the transfer.

Mrs. Theanrat said that insured persons who have not received remedies due to unsuccessful transfer could check the list of unsuccessful transactions at the Social Security Office’s website on www.sso.go.th. If the money transfer is not successful because the insured person has not linked their PromptPay account, they must contact their respective bank. If the insured is not eligible, the insured person can submit a review of rights from 1 – 30 September 2021.

“The transfer of remedies to insured persons under Section 39 in 13 provinces and nine businesses, at 5,000 Baht each, is considered as an effort to alleviate the suffering of the workforce affected by COVID-19. The initiative is in line with the Prime Minister and the government’s intentions to not leave anyone behind so that workers can live and business can move forward to overcome the COVID-19 situation together,” concluded Mrs. Theanrat.
