Myanmar Labor Minister meets with Director General of Department of Labor Protection and Welfare discuss the protection of employees’ rights under labor law

          Mr. Anantachai Uthaiwattana The Director General of the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare said on January 8 that he had consulted with Mr. U San Maung Oo, Myanmar’s labor envoy, to come up with a way to work closely with the Myanmar authorities to protect their rights under the law. The labor envoy has recognized the importance of raising awareness about the rights and obligations under labor protection laws for migrant workers in Thailand, and in case of labor problems, they are not entitled to legal rights. In the case of conflicts of rights, they will work together to resolve the case so that the employee can be protected.
          Director-General of the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare added that such cooperation, this is in line with the policy of H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor in the management of migrant workers, the focus is on the whole system of work protection of employment conditions to work in accordance with standards. All foreign nationals who come to work in Thailand will be protected by the same law as Thai laborers, taking into account the basic right to work. This is a safe working environment to receive fair remuneration, good welfare and non-forced labor.
