Nakhon Pathom Labour Office Joins Inspection on the Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking and Restriction of Illegal Foreign Workers in Don Tum District, Nakhon Pathom Province

          On July 6, 2022, Nakhon Pathom Labour Officer Ms. Yupin Mooljantha assigned Senior Labour Academic Ms. Supawadee Paksang and Labour Academic Ms. Ratchaporn Silpakajorn to inspect the prevention and suppression of human trafficking in labour and restriction of illegal foreign workers in the area of Don Tum District, Nakhon Pathom Province. Representatives of agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Nakhon Pathom Province and relevant agencies inspected three companies, namely (1) Antique trading, by Ms. Orawan Klinnamuang, located at No. 5, Moo 3, Sam Ngam Subdistrict, Don Tum District, Nakhon Pathom Province. The company has three workers, all Myanmar workers, comprising two men and one woman. (2) Antique trading, by Mr. Wichai Khopthong, located at No. 85/1, Moo 3, Sam Ngam Subdistrict, Don Tum District, Nakhon Pathom Province. The company has nine workers, all Myanmar workers, comprising seven men and two women. (3) Nuntakri 2019 Co., Ltd. (branch 1), located at No. 11/2, Moo 11, Sam Ngam Subdistrict, Don Tum District, Nakhon Pathom Province. The company has 14 workers, whereby six are Thai, comprising four men and two women. There are 8 Myanmar workers, comprising seven men and one woman.

          The inspection found offenses under the Alien Work Management Act, B.E. 2560, under Section 8, on the prohibition of foreigners working without work permits, for six foreigners, and offenses under Section 38 on an employer providing residence to a foreigner without notifying the competent official at the immigration office located in the locality where the foreigner resides. The cases will further be prosecuted under the law. In addition, drug use was detected. The officers sent the offender for treatment according to the rehabilitation program for drug addicts.
