Pattani Province Inspects Fishing Vessels to Prevent Human Trafficking Following the Action Plan for Prevention of Forced Labour or Services, and Human Trafficking in Persons in Pattani for 2022

          On Thursday, July 7, 2022, Mr. Sani Hemhim, Pattani Provincial Labour Officer and Director of the Labour Trafficking Prevention Center in Pattani Province assigned Labour Academics Mrs. Kimita Thinchim and Ms. Chayanuch Tongsrao to inspect fishing boats to prevent human trafficking following the Action Plan for Prevention of Forced Labour or Services, and Human Trafficking in Persons in Pattani Province for 2022. They jointly inspected fishing boats and workers in the fisheries sector to manage the problem of migrant workers and human trafficking in fisheries for fisheries operators to comply with relevant laws. They worked with the Pattani Marine Office for National Interest, the Pattani Marine Police, the Pattani Port Authority Office, and the Pattani Labour Protection and Welfare Office for 2022. They inspected three vessels and 52 workers in fisheries, comprising 16 Cambodian workers, 26 Myanmar workers, and 10 Thai workers. The inspection found no sign of human trafficking in the Pattani waters.
