June 27, 2025 – Mr. Boonsong Tapchaiyut, Permanent Secretary of Labour, presided over the opening ceremony of Job Fair 2025 @ Nakhon Si Thammarat, held at the main auditorium of Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University in Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. Mr. Suwat Chansuk, Deputy Governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, welcomed Dr. Sompong Raksatham, Acting President of Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, to give a welcome speech. Mr. Sibmuenchai Phothisin, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Employment, presented the objectives of the event. Attendees also included Mr. Pichet Thongphan, Inspector-General of the Ministry of Labour, Ms. Niyada Saneeymanomai, Deputy Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, Petty Officer First Class Prayong Boonchuay, Inspector-General of the Department of Skill Development, Mr. Thuwanont Duangjak, Inspector-General of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, as well as heads of local labour agencies and business executives from the area.
Mr. Boonsong said that this job fair aims to promote employment opportunities for all target groups, including students, recent graduates, the unemployed, retrenched workers, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities. The goal is to help them secure jobs that match their knowledge, skills, and aptitudes. It also helps reduce unemployment and addresses labour shortages among local employers and businesses. Participants will gain insights into career trends and the evolving labour market, observe live demonstrations of freelance occupations and home-based businesses, explore franchise opportunities, and shop for products made by informal workers.
“Job Fair 2025 @ Nakhon Si Thammarat” reflects the government’s commitment to implementing its 20-Year National Strategy by promoting employment, generating income, and improving quality of life for all. It also helps reduce social inequality, address unemployment, and mitigate workforce shortages across various sectors. The Permanent Secretary of Labour extended his gratitude to all partner agencies whose collaboration made the event a success.
Event highlights included: domestic job recruitment with over 50 companies participating in on-site recruitment, including Honda, CP All, Big C Supercenter, True Corporation, and tutoring schools, offering over 2,000 job vacancies across industries such as hospitality, manufacturing, education, automotive, and healthcare. The top five most sought-after positions were production staff, tele-collection officers, store attendants, trainee assistant managers, and accountants. There were services for job placements abroad, with consultations and registrations for overseas job seekers. Freelance occupation demonstrations included hands-on training in 19 freelance occupations. There was career counseling services with personality assessments for career and educational guidance, and exhibitions on educational and career guidance, hands-on learning experiences, franchise and food truck business models, displays and sales of products made by home-based workers and “One Subdistrict, One Freelance Job” groups, the Ministry of Labour’s service booths, funding advice, and quizzes with prizes. There was also a keynote talk titled “Trends in the Southern Labour Market in the Digital Age and Workforce Shortages in the Service and Tourism Sectors.”
The event runs from June 27 to 28, 2025, at Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, and is open to the public free of charge.
