Permanent Secretary of Labour Emphasizes Integrated Work With All Sectors for Concrete Results

          The Permanent Secretary of Labour emphasized that labour offices in the 76 provinces work integratedly with all sectors, including both the public and private sectors to achieve concrete results.
 
          Today (November 26, 2019) at 13.30 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol presided over the opening ceremony for the workshop on the Ministry of Labour’s policy implementation into action under local context for concrete results. The meeting took place at the Grand Ratchada Room, 5th floor, Than Thip Building, Chaophya Park Hotel, Bangkok. The Permanent Secretary of Labour said, “This seminar is organized to create and align understanding of provincial labour offices and relevant parties on the directions and work following the Ministry of Labour’s and government policies. It is also an opportunity for provincial labour offices to exchange information in each area, to adjust goals in line with the situation and put policies into practice efficiently and in the same direction. To accelerate the Ministry of Labour’s policies for 2020, the policies set out to accelerate operations in many areas, such as labour reform to prepare the workforce for production or challenging work, competition following international standards, processing foreign workers legally to replace the need for labour and raising the level of income for workers in line with current cost of living. It focuses on joining forces together to formulate a strategy to drive the mission towards concrete success and is an important mechanism for national development to escape from the middle-income trap, reduce inequality and bring the nation to stability.”
          In addition, the Permanent Secretary of Labour emphasized that all 76 provincial labour offices and relevant officials who attended the seminar ahdere to the sufficiency economy philosophy and good governance principles in the workplace, following the context of each area. He said to focus on integrated work with all sectors, including both the public and private sectors to achieve concrete results, as well as to create a province-based labour database to be current, to use for local guidelines.
          The meeting had 100 participants, consisting of 76 provincial labour office representatives and officials of the Ministry of Labour.
