“Pol.Gen. Adul” Welcomes Japanese Ambassador to Discuss Thai Workforce Expansion in Japan Through New System

            On March 25, 2019, at 13.30 hours, Labour Minister H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo welcomed Japanese Ambassador to Thailand, Mr. Shiro Sadoshima at the Labour Minister’s office, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour, on courtesy call and discussion on expanding the Thai workforce in Japan. Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark and the ministry’s senior executives also joined the occasion.

 

 

            Pol.Gen. Adul said that the Ministry of Labour was interested in expanding the labour market to Japan with a new system, by trying to prepare the capabilities people interested in traveling to work through this system. It also aims to create correct procedures for the delivery process, ensuring clarity and accuracy by assigning the relevant departments to proceed, including the Department of Employment, which will spread awareness on methods and steps to work in Japan through this new system. It aims to spread accurate information to target groups who have passed technical internship and are currently in Thailand, as well as those interested. The Department of Skill Development will prepare skill development programs in areas in line with Japan’s new foreign labour system which has vacancies in 14 occupations, including the development of Japanese language courses and working skills with Japanese employers, following the qualifications that the Japan needs.
            At present, there are 20,365 Thai workers in Japan in 2019, with the aim of deploying 5,000 more workers. Most of the workforce earns 40,000 – 50,000 Baht per month.
