Thai-Myanmar held academic meeting, both sides agreed to set up a mobile team to the area with a lot of labor

          Mr. Anurak Tossarat was promoted to Director General of the Department of Employment. Ministry of Labour as the head of the Thai delegation, after the signing of the Thai-Myanmar academic conference, Mr. U Winchen, Director-General of the Department of Labor Ministry of Labor, Immigration and Population Leader of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar which was held from 18-19 November 2016 at Dusit Thani Hua Hin, Petchaburi province. The meeting discussed the issues.

  1. Progress on naturalization and CI issuance. Currently, there are 766,295 payday loans (CIs), 419,461 pink cards, and 346,834 employers. Citizenship number 623,794, 381,099 pink card holders, and 242,695 identification cards. 529,635 people were required to prove citizenship. Both parties agreed. The optimization work to be completed in time period. The mobile team will be set up in the provinces with a lot of labor. Citizenship and Citizenship Services (OSS) are also provided in conjunction with the Centers.
  2. The process of sending the Myanmar Workers to come to work under the MOU. The benefits are clear to the workers. The company’s rules and regulations are posted in the workplace. The Demand Letter is also required and punish employment companies that do not comply with the strict law, which both parties agree to notify the list of employment agencies and establishments that are blacklisted (each party acknowledged). Also, consider improving the process of MOU implementation. In addition, the MOU permits the importation of workers to the individual. The Myanmar side will deliver labor according to the Demand Letter.
  3. The results of the discussions of the Working Group brought in to work the next government (G to G), Thailand informed the parties of Myanmar informed of the results of the meeting of the Working Group states that compensation for labor Fisheries monthly 12,000 baht employers. Provide food and accommodation to workers as appropriate. Payroll through bank accounts and employers provide health insurance, life insurance or accident insurance. The Thai side is requesting to announce the terms of employing fishing labor through diplomatic channels. This will be coordinated to the operators and relevant agencies for further consideration.

          Mr. Anurak said the meeting was conclusive and had a friendly and constructive atmosphere. The next academic meeting will be held in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar by the Myanmar will host the conference.
