          Mr. Ananchai Uthaiwattanachep, The Director-General of the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare stated that the employers’ and employers’ rights to provide welfare benefits to employees, such as the provision of clean drinking water, toilets, restrooms, etc. For workplaces where there are many employees, such as 200 or more employees working at the same time. Employers must provide first aid rooms and at least one nurse at all times. At least one doctor must be trained to treat the employee at least twice a week, and at least 6 hours a week at work. For workplaces where 1,000 or more employees are working at the same time, at least two first aid rooms and two nurses must be provided at all times. The doctor must have a minimum of three times a week to treat employees and at least 12 hours a week at work, and a vehicle ready for a sick worker to the hospital.
          In the case where it is not easy to hire a doctor, the employer can make an agreement with a 24-hour medical facility and a medical facility where the employer can receive medical treatment fast and easy instead of having a doctor for treatment. This must be approved by the Board. For employers who do not comply with the law, they are guilty. The penalty for imprisonment not exceeding 6 months, not exceeding 1 hundred thousand baht, or both.
