On June 5, 2018, at 11.30 – 12.30, H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor met with Ms. Tomoko Nishimoto, Assistant Director-General and Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific on ILO’s Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the International Labor Organization (ILO). The event will be held on April 11, 2019. It will be broadcast live from 24 countries around the world for 1 hour each and Thailand will be one of them. The format of the event and filming location will be expressed in Thai. The Ministry of Labor stated that Thailand was the first country in ASEAN to be a founding member of the ILO and has been a member of the ILO for the past 100 years. The Ministry of Labor is very pleased to support such activities. The benefits of the activities will help build confidence in the country. Thailand strictly follows the ILO rules. The Labour Minister commenced a live event to celebrate the ILO’s 100th anniversary, in which Thailand is 1 of 24 member countries honoured to participate in live events via the Ministry of Labour and ILO’s Facebook. Mr. Ananchai Uthaiwattanachep, The Director General of the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare revealed the results of the drive of Safety Thailand, under the policy of H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor, in the fiscal year 2018, starting from October 1, 2017 until July 31, 2018 for 10 months. Workers’ protection has been monitored and enforced. Safety inspectors have visited more than 15,302 establishments, covering more than 1.2 million workers, and prosecuted by comparing offenders under the Safety, Occupational Health and Environment Act. The total number of 205 cases was 24.78 million baht.
