Labour Minister Leads Ministry of Labour in 15th Day Memorial Merit-Making Ceremony, Offering Alms in Honour of the Queen Mother

November 7, 2025, 08.00 hours – Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, presided over a merit-making and alms-offering ceremony dedicated as a royal merit to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, on the occasion marking the 15th day (the Panrasamawan) since her passing, to express mourning and profound gratitude for her boundless compassion. The ceremony was attended by Pol. Lt. Col. Wannapong Kacharak, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, as well as senior executives, civil servants, and Ministry of Labour personnel. Labour Minister Leads Thailand in Ratifying ILO Conventions No. 155, A Key Step Towards International Labour Safety Standards

June 10, 2025, 15.00 hours local time, United Nations building, Geneva, Switzerland – Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, together with Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, Permanent Secretary of Labour, and senior executives of the ministry, met with Mr. Gilbert Houngbo, Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO), to reaffirm Thailand’s role on the global labour stage and report progress on key national labour policies. The highlight of the meeting was Thailand’s ratification of ILO Convention No. 155 on Occupational Health and Safety, along with the 2002 Protocol, a major proactive move by the Ministry of Labour to elevate Thailand’s workplace safety standards to meet international levels. Minister of labor expresses concerns over flooding, orders survey of affected businesses, sets up 1506 assistance center for victims

Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labor, stated that due to the flooding situation affecting six provinces—Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Phetchabun, and Udon Thani—with 21,258 businesses and 207,299 workers impacted, he is deeply concerned about the situation. He has directed the relevant agencies under the Ministry of Labor in the flood-affected provinces to provide assistance to the public urgently. The Ministry of Labor has instructed the provincial labor welfare and protection offices in the affected areas to meet with business owners to discuss employment details, assess the impact on workers and employers, and provide assistance in cases where workers are losing income or businesses are unable to operate.           On November 18, 2021, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong and Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mrs. Tongjai Suthat Na Ayutthaya, received 150,000 masks from Xin Ke Yuan Steel Co., Ltd., led by General Wisit Jangprachak, a company advisor, and Mr. Chen Linfong, Deputy General Manager as representatives. 15,224 Insured Persons Received Unemployment Benefits Worth Over 809M Baht

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported that insured persons thanked the government and the Ministry of Labour for accelerating the SSO to consider unemployment benefits in the event of employment termination.               Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomlin reported the number of registrations of the “Section 33 We Love Each Other” project. From February 21 to March 7, 2021, a total of 8,208,286 people has registered. The next phase opens up registrations for insured persons without smartphones and who have not already registered. Insured persons in this group will need to use their Thai ID card with an embedded smartcard to register for the benefits from March 15-28, 2021.
