Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Labour Office Joins Provincial Social Welfare Promotion Committee Meeting

          On August 25, 2022, at 13.30 hours, the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Office of Social Development and Human Security organized the first meeting of the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Social Welfare Promotion Committee, which took place at the Bueng Phraram Conference Room, 1st floor, Building 4, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial City Hall. The meeting considers the draft Social Welfare Plan of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province No. 4 (2023 to 2027) and the draft implementation plan of the Center for Corporate Social Responsibility Promotion for the Business Sector of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province for 2023. The Deputy Provincial Governor of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Ms. Nuchanart Prateepateenant, chaired the meeting. Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Labour Officer Ms. Rattana Thongklab also attended the meeting.

MOL Heads of Government Agencies in Phichit Province Meet

          On Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at 09.30 hours, Phichit Provincial Labour Officer, Mrs. Prathumphon Prempridi, presided over the Ministry of Labour’s heads of government agencies in Phichit Province meeting no. 8/2022 (11th meeting for the 2022 fiscal year). Heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labor and officials attended the meeting to summarize the August 2022 performance and the issues driving the Ministry of Labour’s missions and Phichit Provincial policies. The meeting also jointly determine the plans to implement activities for September 2022 under the Ministry of Labour for Phichit Province. The occasion took place in the meeting room at the Phichit Provincial Labour Office.  

Labour Minister Assigns Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour to Visit Factories to Promote Confidence Among Japanese Employers that the Government will Support Workers and Businesses through Crises

          On August 23, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour and the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson Mr. Wannarat Srisuksai, to visit a factory and provide knowledge on building good labour relations within the organization, to support organizations to cope with the rapidly changing environment, following the direction of the country’s development. The visit also aimed to build morale for OLIC (Thailand) Co., Ltd employees. MOL Spokesperson Reveals Cabinet’s Approval of the Informal Worker Act and Affirms Government Welfare Support for All Worker Groups

          The Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Thienrat Navamawat, spoke about the case of Mr. Anukul Ratchakuna, the admin and page representative of “The Riders’ Union,” along with workers from the informal sector, who spoke at the GIG Economy Forum to call on the government to enact legislation to protect the welfare of informal workers from being exploited by their employers. In this regard, she confirmed that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, is concerned about the quality of life of informal workers. The Ministry of Labour was assigned to accelerate the promotion and development of informal workers’ potential to have a good quality of life. The Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, has responded to the policy and therefore pushed the bill to promote the Informal Workers Quality of Life Promotion Act B.E….to the Cabinet. Labour Minister Assigns Assistant to Commence 29th National Skills Competition at the Regional Level for the Central Region

          On August 11, 2022, at 13.30 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Assistant to the Labour Minister, Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, presided over the closing ceremony of the 29th National Skills Competition, at the regional level, in the central region. The Department of Skill Development’s Director-General, Mr. Prateep Songlamyong, delivered a report. The occasion took place at the Novotel Marina Sriracha and Koh Sichang Hotel, Chonburi Province. The competition will be held between August 3 to 5, 2022, divided into four provinces, namely the central provinces hosted by the Chonburi Institute of Skill Development 3, the northeastern provinces hosted by the Ubon Ratchathani Institute of Skill Development 7, the northern provinces hosted by the Phitsanulok Institute of Skill Development 9, and the southern provinces hosted by the Surat Thani Institute of Skill Development 11. Labour Minister Assigns Advisor and Spokesperson to Support the Families of the Second Employee who Died From the Bridge Collapse

          On August 5, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Thienrat Navamawat, to visit the area to give compensation to the dependents of the insured person who died from an accident on the U-turn bridge, where a cement sheet fell on the construction worker of the Department of Highways in Rama 2 Road. The occasion took place at the Sai Temple, Soi Ekachai 23, Chom Thong District, Bangkok.           Mrs. Thiwalrat said that the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha and Deputy Prime Minister General Prwit Wongsuwan, who oversees the Ministry of Labour, were concerned about the incident at the U-turn bridge, where a cement sheet fell on construction workers at the work site on Rama 2 Road on July 31. The incident caused two fatalities and two injuries.             On August 4, 2022, at 13.30 hours, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, joined the Narcotics Control Committee Meeting No. 2/2022 online. The meeting considered the (draft) national policies and plans on prevention, suppression, and solving drug problems for 2023 – 2027, the designation of areas for experimental planting of opium poppies and cultivating buffalo dung mushrooms for research studies under Section 55 of the Drug Code, and the (draft) notification of the Ministry of Public Health on specifying the names of narcotics of category 1, 2 and 4, B.E. ….             On July 27, 2022, at 10.00 hours, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, chaired the National Committee Meeting on the Elimination of Worst Forms of Child Labour No. 1/2022. The meeting considered the (draft) situation report on the elimination of child labour for the 2021 fiscal year and the preparation of action plans on eliminating the worst forms of child labour for 2023-2027. MOL Board of Skills Development Meets for No. 4/2022

            On July 25, 2022, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, chaired the Board of Skills Development Meeting No. 4/2022. The Department of Skill Development’s Director-General, Mr. Prateep Songlamyong, including relevant civil servants and officials, attended the meeting, which took place at the Somchat Lekalawan Meeting Room, 10th floor, Department of Skill Development, and through a remote conferencing system.
