          The Ministry of Labour’s Permanent Secretary emphasized for the new government officials in batch 23, to be committed to performing their duties and competent civil servants who perform official duties for the benefit of the people and the nation.           Today (July 12, 2019) at 13.00 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol presided over the closing ceremony of the training course to develop new government officials of the Ministry of Labour, batch 23, ready to wear the shoulder strap for new government officials. The ceremony took place at the Evergreen Room, 5th floor, Asia Airport Hotel, Pathumthani. MOL Trains 23rd Batch of New Civil Servants

         On July 1, at 09.00 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol presided over the commencement of the training for the development of the Ministry of Labour’s new civil servants, batch 23, at the Jompol P. Pibulsongkhram Room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. The training aimed to instill a philosophy of being a good civil servant, enhance potential and skills required for public service operations and promote morality, ethics, teamwork, building a good rapport and network development at work. The course focused on learning from the experience of qualified speakers, a visit to study real operations and practice outside of the classroom, scheduled between July 1–12, 2019, totaling 12 days. Trainees included new government officials from departments under the Ministry of Labour in both the central and regional areas, with a total of 77 people, comprising 8 people from the Department of Employment, 1 person from the Department of Skill Development, 35 people from the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, 32 people from the Social Security Office and 12 people from the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Labour.   Download Images   ++++++++++++++++++++++++

Cabinet Approves Extension on Contributions Payment in 23 Provinces Amounting 18 Billion Baht

             The Labour Minister reported the Cabinet’s approval to extend the deadline for filing a list of contributions and remittances by employers and the insurer in regions that suffered disasters for three months, from December 2018 to February 2019, as proposed by the Ministry of Labour, accounting for approximately 18 billion Baht.             On February 18, 2019, Labour Minister H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo reported that in the Cabinet’s meeting today, the Ministry of Labour proposed a draft of its announcement on the extension of the deadline for submission of remittance and payments of employer contributions and the insurers, in areas that suffered from disasters B.E…. for the Cabinet to approve and declare enforcement. Gen. Adul rehearsal of OSS Phase 2 Operation Center before opening the first day on April 23

          The Minister of Labor, H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, presided over the meeting of the OSS and the center for proof of citizenship at the Conference Room, 5th Floor, Ministry of Labor. He has given the guidelines to the head of the center. The principle of work is focused on the people and the principles of good governance to make the service history records are convenient and confident in transparency with effective management. The four OSS centers in Bangkok are the Ministry of Labor, the Department Store located at Hew Seng Thonburi, Sirindhorn Hospital on Soi Onnuch 90 and Allland Park, Kalpapruek Road. There are 158,011 migrant workers. There were 120,692 citizens and 37,319 non-citizens. This group will work at the OSS from April 23 to May 31, 2018. It will be able to service an average of 1,000 per day per center, while those who are not yet naturalized will have to prove their nationality and health check-up before completion at OSS center by June. Cambodia to Distribute 236,000 Travel Documents from 1 March Onwards

           The Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General and spokesperson Mr. Ananchai Uthaipatanacheep gave an update on the progress of the nationality verification process for Burmese, Cambodian and Laotian workers, as directed by Labour Minister General Sirichai Distkul. At present, Thailand has 683,652 Cambodian workers, 251,545 of which have already passed the nationality verification process. Cambodia has prepared around 240,000 travel documents and has already distributed 4,000, with the remaining 236,000 in line for distribution from 1 March 2017.

Ministry Instructs Agencies to Visit and Support Families of Affected Workers in the Attack in Oman

          Mr. Santi Nantasuwan, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, in his capacity as spokesperson for the Ministry of Labour, provided an update on assistance to Thai workers following the attack on the Thai cargo vessel Mayuree Naree near the Strait of Hormuz on the morning of March 11. According to a report from the labour attaché at the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi, the vessel had 23 crew members, most of whom were Thai nationals. The crew was forced to abandon the ship and board lifeboats. Twenty crew members were rescued by the Royal Navy of Oman and safely brought ashore at Khasab, where they are currently staying at accommodation arranged by the company. The Royal Thai Embassy in Muscat is coordinating with the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs to arrange an official visit.           The remaining three crew members are still missing and are believed to be either on board the vessel or in the engine room.           February 23, 2026, 18.30 hours – Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, assigned Mr. Santi Nantasuwan, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, to represent the Ministry of Labour, together with Mr. Mongkol Songkhram, the Department of Employment’s Deputy Director-General, to present flowers and extend congratulations at the reception celebrating the 78th Anniversary of the Independence of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. H.E. Mrs Edirisinghe Arachchilage Sriyani Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to Thailand and Permanent Representative to UNESCAP, received the flowers and welcomed the delegation. The event was held at the Regency Hall, Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit Hotel, Sukhumvit Road, Khlong Toei District, Bangkok.           Participation in this event reaffirmed the strong and longstanding friendship between Thailand and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, while also promoting continued cooperation in various areas, including labour cooperation, in the future.

          February 23, 2026 – Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, held a press conference announcing the Outstanding Working Women Awards on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026. Joining the event were Pol. Lt. Col. Labour Minister Instructs Social Security Office to Urgently Provide Relief to Insured Persons Under All Sections Affected by the Crane Accident that Crushed a Train

Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, disclosed that she has instructed the Social Security Office to verify the names of those injured in the crane accident involving the Bangkok–Ubon Ratchathani railway line, in order to urgently and immediately ensure that insured persons receive the benefits to which they are entitled. An initial report received from the Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Social Security Office stated that, following a preliminary check, 6 injured insured persons are residents of Ubon Ratchathani Province, as follows: Ms. Boonthita Na Ubon, insured person under Section 40 Mr. Sittichai Yaosri, former insured person (resigned on August 8, 2022) Ms. Phutthawadee Phraphuban, insured person under Section 40 Ms. Yanathip Boonchit, insured person under Section 33 Mr. Witthaya Sangthong, insured person under Section 33 Ms. Chanya Saengsiri, former insured person under Section 33 (resigned on December 21, 2023) The Minister of Labour stated that she has instructed the Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Social Security Office to coordinate with all insured persons to inform them of the benefits they will receive.
