Labour Minister Creates Teachers A and B to Invite Independent Workers to Register for Benefits, Aiming for 9 Million People in the First Year

          The Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson, Mr. Phumiphat Mueanchan, said that the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, supports the training of Teacher B or independent labour networks at the village/community level nationwide. The project aims to improve the quality of life of informal workers through community networks through the registration of informal workers. The Ministry of Labour has implemented the project from June to August 2024 in all provinces, providing knowledge about the benefits of the people according to the draft Act on the Promotion of Quality of Life and Protection of Informal Labour B.E. .. and the use of the independent worker registration system to Bangkok labour volunteers, village headsmen, assistant village headsmen, subdistrict doctors, and regional village headsmen, totaling 75,249 people. Labour Minister Visits Satul to Give Encouragement to Insured Person with Disabilities and Visits the Wang Prachan Check Point

On August 3, 2024, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, visited Satun Province to give encouragement and give gifts to one disabled insured person. From the Prime Minister’s Secretariat’s Office, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, Mr. Phuchong Worasri, and the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson, Mr. Phumiphat Mueanchan, joined the occasion. MOL Ranks 2nd in the Country in the ITA 2024 Assessment, Averaging 93.69 Points in Ethics and Transparency Among 21 Ministries

     On August 2, 2024, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, reported that on July 30, 2024, the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) announced the results from the Integrity and Transparency Assessment (ITA) for the 2024 fiscal year 2024 at the ITA DAY & ITA AWARDS 2024 under the concept of Transparency with Quality. This year, the Ministry of Labour had an average score of 93.69 out of 100, ranking second in the country out of a total of 21 ministries. In the evaluation, the score improved from 2023, when it was ranked fifth. In first place was the Ministry of Industry, which received an evaluation result of 93.85 points. Labour Minister Promotes Labour Standards in the Northeast and Opens a Thai Boxing and Massage Skill Testing Center to Issue Certificates for Work  Immediately

            On July 25, 2024, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, assigned the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Aree Krainara, to the northeastern region of Udon Thani to present the Labour Skill Standards Testing Center for Muay Thai Trainers in Level 1 sign to the National Sports University, Udon Thani Campus, and the National Labour Skill Standards Testing Center for Thai Massage.               After presenting the testing center sign, the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Aree Krainara, said that the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, places importance on national labour skill standards in all fields.   On July 23, 2024, at 13.00 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, welcomed the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Thailand, Mr. Issa Abdullah Jaber Al-Alawi and the delegation on a courtesy call to congratulate the Labour Minister on the occasion of assuming the position and to discuss bilateral relations between Oman and Thailand, as well as ways to promote cooperation in the labour between the two countries. MOL Commences Forum for Cooperation to Support Protection of Welfare Rights and Social Security for Migrant Workers with Equality

          On July 9, 2024, at 13.30 hours, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, assigned the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-Generals, Mr. Samat Pattamasukon, to chair the opening of the first meeting of the Project Advisory Committee (PAC) for Migrant Advocacy for Rights.      On June 25, 2024, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, assigned the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Aree Krainara, and the Department of Employment’s Director-General, Mr. Somchai Morakotsriwan to visit and encourage the first batch of Thai workers who will travel to work in the agricultural sector in Israel, after Thailand’s pause on sending workers to Israel.     The Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Aree Krainara, said that today, the Ministry of Labour is scheduled to send the first 100 Thai workers to Israel, part of the quota of 10,000 workers, under the “Thailand-Israel Cooperation on the Placement of Workers” (TIC). The workers traveled via a particular charter flight, El Al Israel Airlines, flight LY 084, with 40 people, departing from Suvarnabhumi Airport, Thailand, at 16.25 hours, arriving at Ben-Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv at 23.00 hours local time. Labour Minister Concerned About Workplace Injuries Accelerates Safety Campaigns, Prepares to Organize a Big Event Drawing All Parties to Participate 

   The Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson, Mr. Phumiphat Mueanchan, said that the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, was closely following the number of work-related dangers or illnesses. Over the past five years, the number of employees experiencing danger or illness from work decreased from 94,906 in 2019 to 81,509 in 2023, and from 2019 – 2023, Bangkok was the area where employees encountered the most danger. The causes of the more severe accidents are objects or things that cut or pierce. The organs that employees experienced the most significant dangers were fingers or thumbs. The age group of employees who suffered the most hazards was between 25 – 29 years. The type of business with the highest number of hazards was residential building construction. Permanent Secretary of Labour Reports Labour Situation for April 2024; Unemployed Registered Persons Decrease, Employment in the Service Improves

     On June 6, 2024, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, spoke about the overall labour situation based on the data of April 2024 by the Labour Economics Division under the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labour. Currently, 11,857,864 workers are insured under the social security system. Insured persons under Section 33 increased by 1.70 percent compared to the same month of 2023, when there were 11,659,514 people, but a decrease of 0.21 percent compared to March 2024, when there were 11,882,607 people.      Mr. Pairoj added that in Thailand’s unemployment situation, 228,840 unemployed people were registered in the social security system in April 2024. Compared to 2023, this was an increase of 0.93 percent, and compared to March 2024, an increase of 4.74 percent. The unemployment rate in the social security system in April 2024 was 1.89 percent. The number of insured persons registering for unemployment through the online system for registering and reporting insured persons for unemployment was 84,401 people, which decreased from March 2024 by 766 people or by -0.90, and a drop from the same period of 2023 by 3,220 […]
