PM Concerned For Mountain B Pub Fire in Sattahip Instructs Labour Minister to Assign Special Team to Investigate and Support Victims

            On August 5, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin spoke about the fire at an entertainment establishment (MOUNTAIN B) at about 01.00 hours last night. The establishment is located at the edge of Sukhumvit Road, Bangna-Trad Moo 7, Phlu Ta Luang Subdistrict, Sattahip District, Chonburi Province. As soon as the news was received, the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who oversees the Ministry of Labour, expressed their concern about the incident and instructed the Ministry of Labour to urgently investigate the facts and provide immediate assistance to affected employees and employers. Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Joins Narcotics Control Committee Meeting

            On August 4, 2022, at 13.30 hours, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, joined the Narcotics Control Committee Meeting No. 2/2022 online. The meeting considered the (draft) national policies and plans on prevention, suppression, and solving drug problems for 2023 – 2027, the designation of areas for experimental planting of opium poppies and cultivating buffalo dung mushrooms for research studies under Section 55 of the Drug Code, and the (draft) notification of the Ministry of Public Health on specifying the names of narcotics of category 1, 2 and 4, B.E. …. It also considered the comparison of fines under the Drug Code and the appointment of a subcommittee to consider and approve the staff appointment under the ONCB according to the Drug Code, the subcommittee on compensation for narcotics reporters, and narcotics officers. Labour Minister Assigns SSO to Urgently Support Department of Highways Employee From Cement Sheet Fall in Rama II

          On August 4, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Thienrat Navamawat, and heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Pathum Thani Province to visit the area to give compensation to the family of the insured persons who died from a U-turn overpass cement sheet falling onto a construction worker, an employee of the Department of Highways in the Rama 2 Road area, at the 3rd Bridge Construction and Reconstruction Center, Lat Lum Kaeo District, Pathum Thani Province.           Mr. Suchart said that from the incident, the U-turn bridge beam in front of Vibharam Samut Sakhon Hospital, Rama 2 Road, closed for renovation, fell on top of a car on July 31, causing one death and one injury. Mr. Chatchai Sirimart was the person who was injured and was admitted to Samut Sakhon Hospital. His symptoms are improving, and the doctor has allowed him to return home.             On July 27, 2022, at 10.00 hours, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, chaired the National Committee Meeting on the Elimination of Worst Forms of Child Labour No. 1/2022. The meeting considered the (draft) situation report on the elimination of child labour for the 2021 fiscal year and the preparation of action plans on eliminating the worst forms of child labour for 2023-2027. Other matters included modifications to the compositions of the National Committee on the Elimination of Worst Forms of Child Labour and a subcommittee under the National Committee. Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Joins IEP Meeting No. 2/2022

          On July 27, 2022, at 10.00 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Wannarat Srisuksai, to join as a representative at the International Economic Policy Committee (IEP) Meeting No. 2/2022, via a teleconference system.
