Labour Minister Concerns for BMTA Employees Assigns DLPW to Use Good Labour Relations Principles to Find a Solution

          On December 1, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, welcomed members of the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority State Enterprise Workers Union (BMTA), led by Mr. Sompong Sawasdeepap and his team. About 30 people came to submit a letter to the Labour Minister asking for help in cases where the employer did not pay wages to certain union members as they were deemed as interfering with union operations. MOL Joins Meeting to Review and Evaluate Thailand’s National Decent Work Plan 2019 – 2022

             On November 29, 2022, at 13.30 hours, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, assigned the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General, Mr. Samat Pattamasukon, to chair the opening meeting to Review and Evaluate Thailand’s National Decent Work Plan 2019 – 2022 and the preparation of the new Thailand Decent Work National Plan 2023 – 2026. The meeting took place at the Kamolthip Room, Sukosol Hotel, Bangkok. He said that the Decent Work Country Program (DWCP) is a cooperation framework that the ILO has established with member countries as a reference document for providing assistance and support to member countries.
