Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of Labour Mrs. Phattana Phanfak joined the third EU-ASEAN Forum on Human Rights, which took place on November 27, 2019, in Brussels, Belgium. She represented the Chair of the ASEAN Committee on the Implementation of the ASEAN Declaration on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers (ACMW). The objective was to exchange the development of operations of specialized organizations on human rights of the ASEAN and European Union in various issues, such as the promotion of the right to express opinions. The forum also covered the business sectors and guidelines on human rights, women’s rights, and children’s rights in the judicial process, environmental changes, and effects on human rights, including the prevention and resolution of human trafficking, for example.
ในโอกาสนี้ผู้ช่วยปลัดกระทรวงแรงงาน (นางพัฒนา พันธุฟัก) ได้นำเสนอความคืบหน้าการดำเนินงานของ ACMW ซึ่งเป็นองค์กรอาเซียนเฉพาะสาขาองค์กรหลักองค์กรเดียวที่ขับเคลื่อนเรื่องสิทธิแรงงานต่างด้าว นับแต่เวทีเสวนาสหภาพยุโรป – อาเซียนว่าด้วยสิทธิมนุษยชน ครั้งที่ 2 เมื่อปี 2560 ตลอดจนรายงานผลการดำเนินงานของ ACMW ร่วมกับองค์กรอาเซียนเฉพาะสาขาอื่นๆ ในการป้องกันและแก้ไขปัญหาการค้ามนุษย์ ในตอนท้ายที่ประชุมรับรองถ้อยแถลงร่วมเพื่อยืนยันความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างสหภาพยุโรป – อาเซียน โดยจะส่งเสริมให้มีการประชุมในลักษณะดังกล่าว ตลอดจนการขยายความร่วมมือในมิติต่างๆ ต่อไปในอนาคต
