Cabinet Approves Improved Compensation for State Enterprise Employees Effective September 30th

          The Permanent Secretary of Labour revealed the Cabinet’s resolution to approve the Ministry of Labour’s proposal to increase the compensation rate for employees who have worked for 20 consecutive years and more, to receive the wages at the same rate as the final pay, for 400 days and increase the compensation in the workplace equal to the final pay of 400 days, to compensate employees who have benefited the state for a long time. This is effective for state enterprise employees that will retire on September 30, onwards; over 7,000 state enterprise employees will benefit from this.

        On September 10, 2019, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, spoke about the Cabinet’s resolution today (September 10, 2019), which approved the draft of the State Enterprise Labour Relations Committee regarding the minimum standard of employment conditions in state-owned enterprises (No. ..). The proposal was by the Ministry of Labour from the meeting of the State Enterprise Labour Relations Committee, which agreed to increase the compensation rate, extend the rights for employees who have worked for 20 consecutive year or more, to receive no less than the final pay of 400 days and increase the compensation equal to the final rate of pay for 400 days, in return for working and benefitting state enterprises over a long period of time.
        This is to consider the basic rights that state enterprise employees should be equal to the private sector employees. The Labor Protection Act (No. 7) B.E. 2562 has been promulgated in this regard. and is a reward for employees who have contributed to state enterprises for a long period of time.
