December 15, 2025, 11.00 hours – Mr. Tsutomu Kurihara, President of Daikin Industries (Thailand) Ltd., together with his delegation, paid a courtesy visit to Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour. Also in attendance were Pol. Lt. Col. Wannapong Kotcharak, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Lt. Cdr. Saroj Khomkhai, Director-General of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, Mr. Prasit Patangkharo, Department Inspector-General, Mr. Cherdsak Ounkham, Chonburi Provincial Labour Protection and Welfare Officer, and relevant officials. The meeting was held in the Chatmongkol Room on the 6th Floor of the Ministry of Labour Building.
Ms. Trinuch said she has continuously monitored the situation and expressed her satisfaction that all parties were able to negotiate and reach a mutually agreed-upon agreement smoothly. She thanked the company for its policy of prioritising harmonious coexistence among all parties, particularly during the current challenging economic conditions. The company’s attentiveness to and care for its workforce is commendable. She noted that the Ministry of Labour had been deeply concerned about the incident and therefore instructed the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare to closely and continuously monitor the situation to ensure that the resolution process proceeded smoothly, fairly, and with due consideration for the interests of all parties.
“The Ministry of Labour stands ready to support the company in all labour-related dimensions and to promote mutually beneficial cooperation, ensuring business stability alongside the protection of workers’ rights and welfare. The Ministry also reaffirms its role as a central mechanism in closely coordinating cooperation between employers and employees, to strengthen labour relations and contribute to sustainable economic and social development in the long term,” Ms. Trinuch said.
Mr. Tsutomu Kurihara, President of Daikin Industries (Thailand) Ltd., stated that the company sincerely apologised for the incident, which may have caused concern among various parties. He noted that, through cooperation and understanding from all sectors, the situation was resolved smoothly. He expressed his gratitude to the officials of the Chonburi Provincial Labour Protection and Welfare Office for their efforts to understand the company’s policies and effectively communicate with all parties, as well as to officials from the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare who played a key role in the negotiations, leading to a mutually agreed outcome. He expressed hope that the company would continue to operate and grow sustainably in Thailand, and that this incident would serve as a starting point for stronger unity and solidarity between employers and employees.
