On January 8, 2020, at 09.00 hours, Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan chaired the meeting for the Assembly of the Poor Resolution Committee No. 1/2020. The meeting took place at Meeting Room 109, 1st floor, Office of the Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister. Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office Mr. Tewan Liptapallop was vice-chairman of the meeting, whereby Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul, relevant ministers and deputy ministers from 11 ministries, and representatives from the General Assembly also joined the meeting.
General Prawit said that the Prime Minister instructed him to be the chairman of the Assembly of the Poor Resolution Committee. The Prime Minister attaches great importance to the resolution of the people’s problems, whereby giving policies to all ministries to follow together. He also attaches importance to the participation of all sectors. The Assembly of the Poor Resolution Committee’s meeting today includes representatives from the Assembly of the Poor. It is, therefore, is a good sign of participation in resolving the problems of the government and the public sector, quickly, fairly, and in line with the target needs, by adhering to the interests of the general public as a priority
The meeting acknowledged the progress in resolving the problems of the Assembly of the Poor, such as the people affected from the construction of a dam from the reservoir side, including Raseesai and Hua Na in Si Sa Ket province, Prong Khun Phet dam in Chaiyaphum, Kaeng Sueaen dam in Phrae, Tha Sae dam in Chumphon, Pak Moon dam in Ubon Ratchathani province, and Sirindhorn Dam in Ubon Ratchathani. There were also cases of resolving agricultural price problems, including coconut price slumps, land expropriation problems in Nakhon Phanom, Bang Saphan Industrial Project, and solving housing and arable land problems in state land which are for public use, national forest parks, wildlife sanctuaries, and national parks. Furthermore, the meeting acknowledged solved cases where employers terminate employment, including consideration of the policy proposals of the General Assembly of the poor, consisting of 9 groups and 30 proposals such as water management and dam construction policies. The state welfare system and the quality of life of the people, labour, land, forest and natural resources, agriculture, and the development of government programs. In addition, he also acknowledged the mitigation of problems of the members of the Assembly of the Poor living in the state’s agricultural land, following the MOU between the government and the OECD.
The Deputy Prime Minister gave instructions at the meeting, including 1. In the meeting of the Land Subcommittee under the National Land Committee, when the National Land Board has appointed a faculty for the Land Subcommittee, he requested for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to expedite the meeting of the subcommittee to drive problem resolutions 2. In the request to cancel the Tha Sae dam construction project in Chumphon and the Kaeng Suea Dam dam project in Phrae, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives is assigned to expedite the process of consideration and continuously report the progress to the board. 3. In the request for the issuance of land title deeds in the land area following the Royal Decree on Land Restriction in Pak Nam Pho District, Phayuha Khiri District, Krok Phra District, Nakhon Sawan Province, 1929, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives was assigned to expedite the consideration of actions and continuously report the progress to the committee.
