Hitachi Labour Union Thanks Labour Minister on Supporting Negotiations for all Parties on Common Understanding

         Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin welcomed the President of Hitachi Compressor’s (Thailand) Labour Union to meet and thank the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare and related agencies in the negotiation and mediation of conflict for all parties to have a common understanding.
         On February 5, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin welcomed Hitachi Compressor’s (Thailand) Labour Union to meet and thank the Labour Minister on the occasion that the labour union submitted a letter to the Labour Minister asking for help on the employer business transfer issues. The Department of Labour Protection and Welfare and related agencies had negotiated and resolved the conflicts until all parties achieved a common understanding. Advisor to the Labour Minister, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, the Labour Minister’s Secretariat Mr. Suthep Chitayavong, and senior executives of the Ministry of Labour also participated in this occasion at the Chatumongkol Room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour. On January 18, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Advisory Board Members Mr. Manat Kosol and Teerawit Wongphet as representatives to assist in the case where the company changed shareholders. Director-General of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare Mr. Wannarat Srisuksai received the letter and attended a meeting at Hitachi Compressor (Thailand) Co., Ltd. located at 1/65 Moo 5, Khanham, Uthai, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. The company manufactures refrigerator compressors and freezers. Currently, there are 1,160 employees. The labour conciliation staff, Office of Labour Relations, and the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Office of Labour Protection and Welfare had three negotiations on January 15, 21, and 28, 2021. The negotiations resulted in Midea Electric Trading (Singapore) Co., Ltd. accepting all employees to attend the event and to understand the agreement on employment conditions. The company confirmed to comply with the agreement and related laws in preparation to receive the transfer of rights and duties and all welfare. Hitachi asked Midea Group to issue a letter confirming its compliance with the employment conditions agreement, where all parties have the same understanding causing the said conflict to be settled. The Ministry of Labour proposed for both parties’ representatives to cooperate and comply with the agreement to further strengthen the labour relations system.
