           On 21 April 2010, Labour Affairs of Royal Thai Embassy in Tel-Aviv visited Thai workers suffering from accommodation fire in Moshav Sittriya
After enquired about the fire accident from the workers, they said that on 20 April 2010 around 12.30 pm., while they were working in orange farm, they saw huge plumes of smoke billowed over the building decoration factory adjacent to workers’ accommodation and hastily spreading to nearby workers’ accommodation because the factory stored hazardous chemicals (thinner) and the roof material is made from flammable. Fireman took about 2 hours to extinguish the fire. All Thai workers’ accommodation were completely damaged but none of Thai workers was inside because all of them were working in the farm but their properties were however burnt up such as television, washing machine, refrigerator and cash, etc.
           Leebar Employment Agent rendered first assistances to Thai workers by arranging new accommodation and provided clothes and necessary utensils as well as gave them 10,000 baht/ person for living expenses. The lawsuit are now in the process of inquest, after the result is concluded, Leebar Employment agency will claim the compensation from the insurance company.
