On October 15, 2020, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Advisor to the Labour Minister Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan to observed influenza vaccination services to promote health and disease prevention (Healthy Thailand for the Insured) at King Mongkut’s Hospital, Petchburi, Amphur Muang Phetchaburi, Phetchaburi.          The Labour Minister’s Advisor said that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha, is concerned for the health of the people, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Although Thailand has been able to control the pandemic, maintaining the good health of the people is very important. She said that today, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned her to pay a visit and encourage insured persons to get the flu vaccine. Each year, there are many people at risk for influenza. The Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office, therefore, organized activities to promote health and disease prevention through influenza vaccinations (Healthy Thailand for the Insured) with the aim of creating immunity for insured persons to get influenza vaccines. This will, in turn, reduce the rate of illnesses among insured persons aged 50 years and over. The initiative focuses on protecting insurers who are important workers in the country by recognizing the importance of prevention rather than treatment and is an initiative by the Social Security Office in collaboration with King Mongkut’s Hospital, Petchburi.
Mrs. Thiwalrat continued that the influenza vaccination is available for insured persons under Section 33 and Section 39, aged 50 years or more. Eligible people can receive services at the hospital according to their eligibility, or hospitals as specified by the Social Security Office. Today’s event was organized by the Bangkok Social Security Office, Area 9, in collaboration with Nopparat Rajathanee Hospital, providing influenza vaccinations to insured persons at Social Security Clinic, 2nd floor, Navarajchakri Building. The initiative is a good sign of cooperation between the Social Security Office and the Social Security Alliance Network on promoting health and disease prevention so that insured workers maintain good health, especially during the adjustment to a new normal, to reduce the risk of various diseases; this includes the Covid-19 outbreak that has affected all countries around the world. The Social Security Office will start the flu vaccinations in 2020 from October 15 to December 31, 2020. From 2021 onwards, the service is available between May 1 and August 31 of every year.
