Labour Minister Assigns Advisor to Visit Injured Insured Persons and Compensate the Families of the Deceased from the Train-Bus Collision in Chachoengsao

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Advisor to the Labour Minister to visit and give goods to injured insured persons, presenting benefits to the bus driver’s relatives. They died from a train crash on a bus while going to a Kathin event in Chachoengsao province.
          On October 12, 2020, the Labour Minister assigned Advisor to the Labour Minister Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan and Advisory Board Member to the Labour Minister Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat to pay a visit of encouragement and provided daily necessities for nine insured persons who were injured in a train accident while traveling to the Kathin event. The visit took place at the Phra Phutthasothon Hospital in Chachoengsao province. The Advisor to the Labour Minister said that the Prime Minister expressed condolences to the deceased’s family and cared for those injured in this incident, which resulted in 19 deaths and 41 injuries. He ordered the relevant agencies to provide urgent assistance to the victims. In the Ministry of Labour, the Labour Minister has assigned the visiting party to inspect the area, give words of encouragement, and provide the daily necessities to 9 insured persons staying at Phra Phutthasothon Hospital. They also visited Bang Bo Temple, Bang Bo, Samut Prakan, to provide compensation benefits to the family of Mr. Boonsong Suanyim, the bus driver who died in the accident. The compensation included a funeral fee of 40,000 Baht, compensation in the event of death from work amounting to 1,260,000 Baht, and 57,467.40 Baht for old age compensation, totaling 1,357,467.40 Baht.
          Mrs. Thiwalrat continued that agencies have provided urgent assistance to victims together with the Chachoengsao Social Security Office and the Samut Prakan Social Security Office from the Social Security Office’s report. It reported that 19 people died in the accident, comprising 14 insured persons, two migrant workers, and six others in the verification process. There were 41 injured people; 38 were insured persons. For initial support, the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office has paid a visit to encourage and provide daily necessities for the injured insured persons. There is also a psychiatric doctor to take care of the mental state of relatives of the injured and deceased. On the part of the deceased, relatives, or family members will be contacted for payment of compensation benefits according to the legal procedures.
