Labour Minister Assigns Advisor to Visit Phetchaburi and Commends the Model Village for Section 40 Insurance Promorint Knowledge and Access Among Independent Workers

           Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor to chair the opening of the “Social Security Section 40 Knowledge Dissemination Project in Phetchaburi” and presented signs to “Ban Samolok” honoured as a model village of insurance under Section 40. The section extends protection for independent workers to have social security and a better quality of life under the “Bowon” (house, temple, school, and factory).
           On October 9, 2020, the Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Advisor to the Labour Minister Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan to chair the opening ceremony of “Social Security Section 40 Knowledge Dissemination Project in Phetchaburi” at Wat Don Ban Mai, Had Chao Samran, Muang, Phetchaburi. Advisory Board Member to the Labour Minister Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat also joined the occasion. The Labour Minister’s Advisor said that the government had emphasized building social security that is comprehensive and suitable for people of all ages, especially taking care of self-employed workers to have a good quality of life, stability, and life insurance. She said that today, she was very happy and honoured to be assigned by the Labour Minister to represent the opening ceremony of the “Social Security Section 40 Knowledge Dissemination Project in Phetchaburi”. She also presented the “Social Security Village” sign under the policy of the One Tambon, One Village, Universal Social Security throughout Thailand to “Baan Samolok,” which was regarded as “Social Security Village” for insured persons under Section 40. It is considered an insurance model village. The first village of its kind in Phetchaburi can extend protection for independent workers with social security and a better quality of life, covering the whole village. The efforts align with social security policies throughout Thailand under the “Bowon” (house, temple, school, and factory). CP Fresh Mart Company donated 10,000 eggs and 1,000 CP Freshmart coupons.
           Mrs. Thiwalrat continued that the organization of the “Social Security Section 40 Knowledge Dissemination Project in Phetchaburi” is a part of the campaign to promote public welfare regarding social security and encourage independent workers to access security and social protection. It also includes the development of network participation mechanisms at the local level to join as a voice in the expansion to other villages in Phetchaburi to realize and participate in supporting the mobilization of people to have social security a better quality of life. The effort aims to strengthen the participation from all sectors, which will be an important mechanism in driving the social security to independent workers, in line with the local government policy of “not leaving anyone behind.”
