Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Advisory Board to the Labour Minister to represent the Labour Minister in receiving a letter of claims against human rights violations and threats to foreign business operators against Thai workers find ways to help take next steps.
On November 11, 2020, at 14.00 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Advisory Board Member to the Labour Minister, Mr. Natthawat Teeratathamrong, to represent the Labour Minister in receiving a letter of claims from President of the Honda Labour Federation of Thailand Mr. Thirawit Wongpetch, together with employees of Saga Fastener Thailand Co., Ltd., a manufacturing and distribution business facility of auto parts, in Chonburi. They had traveled to the Ministry of Labour to meet with the Labour Minister at the Labour Relations Committee meeting room, 1st floor, Ministry of Labour, to submit claims for human rights violations and threats against human rights to Thai workers, among foreign business operators.
Mr. Natthawat said that the Saga Fassner Labour Union, a member of the Honda Labour Union of Thailand, had encountered labour issues with Saga Fastener (Thailand) Co., Ltd., which has been an employer for a while. The company is currently facing lawsuits whereby the Honda Labour Union of Thailand has given the company notice for both parties to meet for discussion. However, there was no response from the company. The association issued a letter to inquire to the management again, but there was no progress. Therefore, the Honda Labour Federation of Thailand met for a discussion and saw to bring the problems to the Labour Minister, seek advice on solving the problem, and find ways to coexist in peace in the workplace. This is to continue to promote a good relationship.
Therefore, the Labour Minister has assigned Mr. Natthawat Teeratathamrong, Advisory Board to the Labour Minister, to be the recipient of the said complaint, for further process.
