Labour Minister Awards Organizations and Models on Employment Promotion

         On August 29, 2019, at 13.30 hours, Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul presided over the ceremony on “employment promotion” for 2019. Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol and the ministry’s executives also participated in the service at the Jompol P. Pibulsongkram Conference Room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. The objective of the event was to honour organizations, agencies and individuals/groups with outstanding employment promotion benefits, as well as publicize cooperation of organizations that support employment promotion as a model of creating inspiration for society in line with the government’s policy for developing Thailand out of the middle-income trap. It also aims to help poverty and create sufficient income for the people to live a sustainable life by promoting all Thai people to have quality jobs, including showcasing social power in promoting employment for people of all ages. The Ministry of Labour’s Department of Employment is the primary agency that provides employment promotion services to working people of all target groups, focusing on promoting Thai people to have work in all areas and supporting stable and continuous employment throughout the working age.

 

 

In addition, the event also hosted exhibitions of organizations/employers/establishments involved in promoting employment in various establishments, including career guidance for work. It also supported employment for all target groups, such as students, disabled people, the elderly and those who were released from military service before discharge for example, as well as the promotion of informal work through homeworkers. Participants consisted of Central Restaurants Co., Ltd., Berli Jucker PCL, Ek-Chai Distribution Systems Co., Ltd., Minor International PCL, Food Passion Co., Ltd., Business Services Co., Ltd., and Index Living Mall Co., Ltd. The event showcased products from homeworkers at the Department of Employment, to support, promote, exhibit and publicize and sell products to create income. There were 3 groups, including the Phu Tan Network which produces products from sugar palm and palm, the Mae Pad San Rayong Group, which manufactures and sells fans, and Bangplong reed mat community enterprise which produces and sells reed mats. The event also included career guidance services, personality tests, and professional aptitude assessments, and the services of agencies under the Ministry of Labour.
