Labour Minister Awards Over 400 Establishments for Labour Management Excellence

         The Labour Minister awarded the Thailand Labour Management Excellence Award 2019, to honour over 400 organizations on their excellent labour management and standardized systems to develop potential and increase productivity for workers with good quality of life, enhancing national competitiveness.

 

 

        On September 9, 2019, Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul chaired the Thailand Labour Management Excellence Award 2019 at the Grand Diamond Ballroom, Impact Muang Thong Thani, Pak Kret, Nonthaburi. Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, together with senior executives, also joined the event. The Labour Minister congratulated all companies that received an award. He said that for Thailand to advance into a country with stable economic growth, it needs to modernize its production sector in with advanced technology in the process, to increase the value of its products. Therefore, it is necessary to drive workforce transformation so that the workforce has high potential and supports a production process that uses more innovation and technology. To achieve this goal, the public and private sectors need to work together to develop systems and labour management standards as the basis for the country’s human resource development, towards a better quality of life, prepared for changes in different technologies.
        The award was presented in honour of establishments using bilateral mechanisms, the participation of employers and employees in raising the level of labour management to an international standard. This year, there were 3,140 establishments which applied for the activity. Three organizations were awarded the Thailand Labour Management Excellence Award 2019 and Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Royal Trophy. The 3 companies were Seagate Technology (Thailand) Company Limited in Samut Prakan for large organizations, Supawut Industry Company Limited in Chon Buri for medium-sized organizations and Newly Foods (Thailand) Company Limited in Samut Prakarn for small organizations.
        There was also a trophy from the Ministry of Labour given to workplaces that received the outstanding workplace award for labour relations and welfare, excellent occupational safety, health and working environment and companies that maintain Thai labour standards (TLS 8001-2553). There are also awards for the committee on occupational safety, health and working environment, national outstanding safety agency awards, and 467 exceptional safety officers in the workplace. These award-winning establishments will be a model for others to develop management systems for the quality of life of workers and increase national competitiveness.
