On November 2, 2020, at 08.30 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin presided over the meeting to present policies to heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Phuket, Krabi, Phangnga, Trang, Ranong, and Satun. Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol and the Ministry of Labour’s executives joined in the policy presentation at the ICT Skill Development and Learning Center, Talat Yai, Muang, Phuket.
Phuket has a workforce of 317,874 people (Statistical Office) (As of June 2010 Number of informal workers (National Statistical Office, as of June 2020). There are 100,939 informal workers (National Statistical Office, as of June 2020) and 11,070 establishments in Phuket in the social security system. There are 189,600 insured persons (data as of September 2020), separated into 120,847 insured persons under Section 33, 36,659 insured persons under Section 39, 32,094 insured persons under Section 40, and 67,785 foreign workers (data as of September 2020. There are 2,930 establishments in Krabi, with 42,715 employees and 75,184 insured persons in the social security system. The province has 12,063 foreign workers. Trang has 2,300 establishments, with 373,033 employed persons, comprising 8,489 foreign workers. Phang Nga province has 1,403 establishments with 20,103 employees, 51,046 insured persons in the social security system, and 22,882 foreign workers. Ranong has 1,972 establishments, 40,978 employees, 40,978 insured persons, and 29,978 foreign workers, whereas Satun has 2,025 establishments with 17,258 employees, 39,815 insured persons in the social security system, and 2,984 foreign workers.
