July 3, 2026 at 13.00 hours – Mr. Julapun Amornvivat, Minister of Labour, presided over the opening of the “Know Before You Work” forum. In attendance were Mr. Samat Pattamasukon, Director-General of the Department of Skills Development, Mr. Surachart Thienthong, Secretary to the Labour Minister, Ms. Thidarath Yingcharoen and Ms. Bunyakorn Damrongrat, Advisers to the Labour Minister, as well as representatives from government agencies, the entertainment industry, actors, directors, media producers, legal experts, and freelance workers in the entertainment industry. The event was held at Multipurpose Room 1, Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.
The event was organised to build knowledge and understanding of the rights, duties, and relevant labour laws among workers in the entertainment industry, while promoting fair employment and effective labour protection. The event featured panel discussions by representatives from government agencies, legal experts, and industry representatives, who exchanged views on key issues such as the execution of written employment contracts, receipt of agreed wages, accidents and injuries during filming, as well as illegal employment and fraud within the entertainment industry.
In addition, a press conference was held to announce a collaboration on the accreditation of professional training curricula between the Ministry of Labour and the industry, to upskill workers, raise professional standards, and expand employment opportunities in the entertainment industry.
The Ministry of Labour is committed to ensuring that workers in all sectors receive legal protection, are informed of their rights before commencing work, and can pursue their professions securely, safely, and fairly, consistent with the policy of improving the quality of life of Thai workers in every dimension.
