The Labour Minister commenced the International Labour Development Project in honor of the auspicious occasion of the coronation, to transfer knowledge to the ASEAN workforce.
On September 19, 2019, Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul presided over the opening ceremony of the International Labour Development Project to honour the auspicious occasion of the coronation, at the International Skill Development Institute, Chiang Saen, Chiang Rai. Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet, as well as the ministry’s executives, also participated in the event. The Labour Minister said that His Majesty the King has a determination to secure the nation for people to have a better life, as well as to preserve and expand royal initiatives. It also includes those of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej and H.M. Queen Sirikit, in the treatment of suffering and happiness for the people and the country to progress and introduce “the science of the King” following the ” sufficiency economy philosophy ” to expand and spread to the public. Furthermore, the event aimed to spread more awareness of the Ministry of Labour’s missions at the international level.
The International Labour Development Project in honour of the auspicious occasion of the coronation is a joint effort to carry out and fulfill the royal wishes of His Majesty the King. It demonstrates unity in cooperation from various agencies, including campaigning to spread awareness of loyalty to the monarchy. The Ministry of Labour assigned the Department of Skill Development, by the International Skill Development Institute to be responsible and carry out operations from April 1989 to September 2020. The activities include: Activity 1, an exhibition to honour King Rama 10, the King of Science and the Father of Thai Mechanic Standards; Activity 2, an International Academic Conference on the topic of “developing international labour skills for sustainable development following the philosophy of the sufficiency economy; Activity 3, training on the philosophy of the sufficiency economy, including the development of training courses, in 5 branches, 30 hours each. There was also an international model teacher training program from an ASEAN group of 450 people, training of personnel from the Ministry of Labour, civil servants, independent workers, students, and the public. The event transferred knowledge about the sufficiency economy philosophy in all training activities for a total of 6 hours per branch, and a study tour at the Royal Development Projects in Chiang Rai; Activity 4, building a learning center for life following the philosophy of the sufficiency economy and agriculture combined with the new theories; and Activity 5, monitoring and expanding results in ASEAN countries by tracking the quality of life and the extension of trainees from ASEAN countries.
The Labour Minister also visited an exhibition in honour of the royal family, and activities within the learning center for life following the sufficiency economy philosophy. He also observed demonstrations of career training following the 101 Occupation Project and the exhibition of the departments and planting honeycombs, which is the tree of Rama 10, within the center as well.
