Labour Minister Commences MOL 26th Anniversary of Sustainable Workforce Transformation and Reform and Awards Plaques of Honour to Outstanding Volunteers and Retirees

          The Labour Minister commenced the ‘Ministry of Labour’s 26th Anniversary of sustainable workforce transformation and reform. The event awarded plaques of honour to outstanding labour volunteers, graduates and retirees.

 

 

          On September 23, 2019, Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul presided over the ceremony on the occasion of the Ministry of Labour’s 26th anniversary. The event started in the morning with a religious ceremony, offering alms to 10 monks and paying respects to Phra Phutthasuttham Bophit, Phra Phut Chinnarat, a Brahmin ceremony, then paying respects to San Por Pu Chai Mongkhon and San Thao Mahaprom Thewari, at the front of the Smart Job Center. The Labour Minister presided over the opening ceremony and presented plaques to honour 24 people who have outstanding work on labour. The event’s slogan was the ‘Ministry of Labour’s 26th Anniversary of sustainable workforce transformation and reform.’ The Labour Minister also received a congratulatory basket on the occasion of the ministry’s 26th anniversaryr from various departments at the ground floor of the Ministry of Labour building.
          After that, the Labour Minister presided over the outstanding labour volunteer awards at the provincial level to 76 awardees. Another 4 labour graduates were awarded for outstanding performance, along with 8 labour volunteers at the regional level. Plaques of honour were awarded to 209 retirees in 2019. The ceremony took place at the Jompol P. Pibulsongkram conference room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. The Minister of Labour congratulated the awardees and explained that the Ministry of Labour has a broad scope of work; thus, it is imperative to have cooperation from all parties, both the public and private sectors. The private sector plays a particularly important role in helping the Ministry of Labour’s mission in the development of skilled workers, to promote and enhance employment opportunities and protect workers to ensure stability and safety at work successfully, according its objectives. The Labour Minister thanked everyone who participated in this event for their sacrifices.
          The Labour Minister continued that for everyone selected as an outstanding labour volunteer this time, the ministry’s mission diverges into skills development, job placement, social security, protection for benefits under labour laws, prevention of foreign worker issues, drug problems and human trafficking, which is connected with the well-being of the people in every area. Everyone’s sacrifice and dedication to work is therefore an important part to motivate the Ministry of Labour’s mission to achieve its goals, for people in all areas of the community to have a better life. Labour volunteers and graudates are those who act as a mediator to drive government policies and the mission of the Ministry of Labour’s missions to the people in the area, to have a career and increase income. They work on a “voluntary basis” and are dedicated to society. The Labour Minister wished for all participants to continue being a good role model for other labour volunteers. For civil servants and permanent employees who retired this year, the Labour Minister said that the award highlights that they performed their duties completely, giving great benefits that should be praised. He said that all awardees deserve to be remembered and looked up to as a role model In order to maximize the benefit of the nation and the public.
