Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin chaired the meeting with medical institutions in the social security network to clarify understanding in preparation for Covid-19 vaccinations for insured persons before starting services this June.
On May 18, 2021, at the Prof. Nikom Chandravithu meeting room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour, the Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, chaired the meeting with medical institutions in the Social Security Office’s network to prepare for the Covid-19 vaccination roll out. The Labour Minister’s Secretariat Mr. Suthep Chitayawong, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, the Social Security Office’s Secretary General Mr. Tosapol Kritawongwiman, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the meeting. The Labour Minister said that following Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha’s assignment, the Ministry of Public Health has considered allocating vaccines to the Ministry of Labour to distribute to insured workers under Section 33. The first phase consists of 6 million doses in June 2021, with 1.5 million doses in the Bangkok area. July 2021 will have 4 million doses, whereby 1.5 million doses will be for Bangkok, and 2.5 million doses will be for the nine economic provinces. The Ministry of Labour was assigned to prepare vaccinating workers by allowing companies to report names for vaccinations, linking the data with the “Doctor Ready” application by the Ministry of Public Health. It will coordinate with the private sector in finding additional locations for the vaccinations.
Mr. Suchart said that previously, the Ministry of Labour surveyed the need for vaccinations via the Web –Service system. Up to 80 percent of Section 33 insured persons showed interest in the vaccinations. The Ministry of Labour assigned the Directors of the 12 Social Security Offices in Bangkok Metropolitan to source locations for the vaccinations. Now, there are 45 vaccination sites ready, with all necessary equipment for vaccinations. Today, the executives of 12 hospitals in the social security network were invited to attend the meeting to clarify their understanding of how to prepare for vaccinations. The vaccination rollouts will start this June.
