November 17, 2025 – Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, delivered policy directives to executives and personnel of the Department of Employment, both at central and regional levels, at the Thian Atchakul Conference Room. She reiterated the mission of securing employment for Thai people under the concept “Thais Must Have Jobs”, with the target of identifying 150,000 job positions within 4 months.
Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, stated that one of the major national issues directly linked to the Ministry of Labour is that many people in the country “do not have jobs”, or simply put, are unemployed. Unemployment means having no income and no financial security, which can lead to family problems, social issues, drug problems, and even exposure to global scam networks. Unemployed people can easily become victims of these scams simply because they are desperate for work. Therefore, to effectively drive the “Thais Must Have Jobs” policy, it is essential to create a collaborative mechanism among the public, private, and education sectors to balance the labour market. This will be achieved through the Employment Service Centres for Thais, operating across four dimensions.
Ms. Trinuch added that these four dimensions for driving the policy through the Employment Service Centres for Thais include: 1) Accelerating job mobilisation in all areas (job hunting). 2) Matching job vacancies with specific skills, combined with Upskill–Re-skill training (proactive job matching). 3) Promoting overseas employment, focusing on markets offering high income and good welfare, while regulating and facilitating the deployment of Thai workers abroad, and 4) Clear success indicators and a commitment to move forward without leaving anyone behind
Mr. Somchai Maruksriwan, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General and Acting Director-General of the Department of Employment, said that the Department of Employment serves as the key mechanism in promoting employment for the public, coordinating with employers for job vacancies, supporting self-employment, promoting Upskill–Re-skill training, providing labour-market information, and monitoring job placement outcomes. From October 2025 to the present, the Department of Employment has facilitated domestic employment for 42,000 people, generating an average annual income of 7.56 billion Baht. Moreover, more than 17,000 Thais have been deployed to work abroad, generating 12.24 billion Baht per year.
“The Department of Employment confirms its commitment to continuing to develop employment services in line with current needs, supporting Thai workers to be capable and sustainably employed. The Employment Service Centres for Thais, under the ‘Thais Must Have Jobs’ concept, will officially open on November 24, 2025. Those seeking employment may contact staff at any of the 76 provincial employment offices, Bangkok Employment Offices Areas 1–10, or the Ministry of Labour hotline 1506, press 2, Department of Employment,” said the Director-General.
