Labour Minister Emphasizes that AstraZeneca Vaccines are in Supply for Insured Persons and Services Will Resume on June 14

Content Description

Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin spoke about the Social Security Office’s announcement to postpone Covid-19 vaccination services for Section 33 insured persons in the 45 locations in Bangkok. Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan is concerned about the insured persons and understands that they wish to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Therefore, he ordered the Minister of Labour to urgently address the two shortcomings, including some unfavorable facilities without air conditioning, taking place in hot weather. The Labour Minister said he would cancel the said place and merge it into a place that is ready with air conditioning. For cases where company HR departments have sent insured persons with confusing and inconsistent information, he clarified that there could be many reasons such as duplicate registrations, insured persons having been vaccinated from elsewhere before, or that the insured person is not ready to receive the vaccinations on the specified date and time, but the HR department did not give an update, or if the insured person is not physically ready, for example. The Social Security Office has coordinated with various business establishments to expedite improvements to obtain information about insured persons who truly wish to get vaccinated. If any establishment is not ready, it will wait first. The Ministry of Labour will move forward with establishments that are ready first. Vaccinations will begin again on Monday, June 14.

“I reiterate that the AstraZeneca vaccine for insured persons is not in shortage. Deputy Prime Minister Anutin and I have been working closely together and consulting each other to provide vaccinations. This national agenda can help control the spread efficiently and cost-effectively. The Ministry of Labour will speed up the opening of the Covid-19 Vaccination Center for Section 33 Insured Persons in Bangkok as soon as possible. The centers are expected to reopen for vaccinations on Monday, June 14,” concluded Mr. Suchart.
