Labour Minister Holds Talks with OIC Labour Center to Elevate Labour Cooperation, Skills Development, and Rights Protection to International Standards

September 23, 2026 at 10:30 hours local time – Mr. Julapun Amornvivat, Minister of Labour, together with Pol. Lt. Col. Wannapong Kotcharak, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Ms. Thidarath Yingcharoen, Advisor to the Labour Minister, and his delegation, held a bilateral meeting with representatives of the Labour Centre of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC Labour Centre) to exchange views and promote labour cooperation between the two parties.

The discussions covered key issues, including promoting orderly and lawful labour mobility, skills development and upgrading to align with the needs of the modern labour market, protecting workers’ rights, and promoting standards on occupational safety, health, and the working environment.

Mr. Julapun said that the Ministry of Labour stands ready to promote cooperation with the OIC Labour Centre through the exchange of information, knowledge, and good practices in labour affairs, with a view to elevating labour management, rights protection, and the quality of life of workers in line with international standards, as well as creating opportunities to develop labour cooperation with OIC member states in the future.

“This cooperation will serve as another important mechanism for linking labour cooperation between Thailand and OIC member states, encompassing skills development, labour protection, and knowledge exchange, which will help expand opportunities for Thai workers to access overseas labour markets with quality and appropriate protection,” Mr. Julapun said.
