Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported that he was overall satisfied after the closure of the proactive Covid-19 screening center. A total of 132,912 insured persons, informal workers and general public got tested, to help slow down the spread of the infection and control outbreaks while waiting for vaccinations.
On May 31, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin gave an overview of the proactive Covid-19 screening in Bangkok, Pathum Thani, Chonburi, Chiang Mai, Nonthaburi and Samut Prakan. Following the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha’s instructions, the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan worked with the Ministry of Interior, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and the Ministry of Public Health by the NHSO to conduct proactive Covid-19 screening under the “Workforce Fighting Together” program, free of charge. Today (May 31, 2021) was the last day of service, whereby the overall result of the proactive Covid-19 testing was satisfactory.
Mr. Suchart said that the proactive Covid-19 testing at the first facility, the West Sports Building 1, Bangkok Youth Center (Thai-Japan) in Din Daeng, commenced screening from April 17 to 30, 2021 and May 5 to 31, 2021, which tested 88,992 people. The second sit was at the Pathum Thani Vocational College from May 24 to 30, 2021, May 5 to 11, 2021 and May 24 to 31, 2021, which tested 21,538 people. The third site was in Chonburi from April 24 to 30, 2021, which tested 1,184 people. The fourth site was in Chiang Mai from April 24 to May 15, 2021, which tested 11,134 people. Meanwhile, the fifth site was in Nonthaburi from April 25 to May 1, 2021, which tested 3,257 people, and the sixth site was in Samut Prakan from May 1 to 7, and May 26 to 31, 2021, which tested 6,807 people. Overall, the six provinces, tested a total of 132,912 people.
The proactive Covid-19 screening is a measure that has helped to slow the spread of the virus and control the pandemic while waiting for vaccinations for workers in the workplace.
